Wheat Flour Sandwich is a very simple and healthy homemade recipe prepared without using refined flour. It is prepared with commonly available ingredients in the house only. This wheat flour bread is prepared without using oven.It is packed with vegetables and cheese that is loved by each and every kid.
Since this Sandwich is very easy to prepare, it can be even prepared by bachelors and youngsters. This Sandwich has another advantage that, it is prepared without onion and garlic. Do try this different and tasty homemade Sandwich recipe at your homes without fail and share your feedback.

Makes – 5 sets of sandwich
- 1 1/2 cup wheat flour
- 3/4 cup curds
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 /2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cooking soda
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp oil
- 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp water
- 2 boiled smashed raw banana
- 1/2 cup capsicum finely chopped
- 2 tbsp boiled sweet corn
- 1 tbsp blanched fresh green peas
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp green chilly paste or finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp coriander cumin powder
- 3/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1 cup fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 2 green chilly
- 1/4 cup mint leaves (opt )
- ¼ tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts or fried gram
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp water
- Tomato slices
- Cucumber slices
- Green chutney
- Tomato ketchup
- Chat masala powder
- Grated cheese
Combine all the dry ingredients in a wide vessel, then put in one tbsp oil and give a nice mix.
Then add in curds gradually and go on mixing and check the consistency of the dough.
If necessary add one tbsp water and prepare the dough almost like chapathi or slightly softer than regular chapathi dough.
Lastly drizzle little oil on the dough nicely and transfer to an air tight box and rest it for 15 to 20 minutes.
In the mean time prepare the filling for the sandwich, heat the oil in a nonstick and add in cumin seeds and allow to splutter.
Then put in ginger and green chilly chopped and give a nice mix once.
Now adding capsicum and sauté for a minute and put in boiled corn and blanched peas and sauté for few seconds.
Add in smashed boiled raw banana, coriander cumin powder, turmeric powder, salt , garam masala powder and sugar , give a good stir for a minute.
Lastly add in lemon juice and coriander leaves and sauté for two minutes on low flame.
Switch off the stove and allow to cool down completely.
Now wash the coriander and mint leaves and keep aside.
Then crush all other ingredients in mixer except lemon juice.
Then add coriander leaves and mint leaves along with lemon juice and water and crush to fine paste.
Now the green chutney is ready to use in sandwich.
After 20 minutes, knead the dough once and divide into 10 equal portions.
Roll like a paratha and cut like a rectangle and keep aside.
Then heat the tawa on low flame, then put the rolled bread piece on tawa and roast without oil on low to medium flame.
When you notice bubbles slightly on the bread and when it is almost 80 % roasted and if you find a raise in the bread, it means the bread is done.
Then transfer on a plate and cover with cloth so that it does not dry up,
Allow the bread to cool down completely and in the mean time preheat the sandwich maker.
Apply butter on each piece, then spread green chutney on five pieces and ketchup on another five pieces.
Spread the stuffing on chutney spread bread piece as a thick layer.
Then arrange the tomato and cucumber slices and sprinkle chat masala powder.
Lastly nicely top the sandwich with grated cheese as per your wish.
Close it with another ketchup spread bread and grill in the sandwich maker applying butter nicely.
Grill the Wheat Flour Sandwich nicely till crispy.
Serve the hot and yummy homemade Wheat flour Sandwich.
- Can replace raw banana with potato.
- You may grill the sandwich on a non stick or grill pan if you does not have electric sandwich maker.
- Green chutney should be thick.
- You can use ginger powder and amchur instead of ginger paste and lemon juice.
- Steam the raw banana with peel only and take out the peel while using only to avoid the change in the colour.
- 1 cup equals 250 ml.
- Use a branded baking powder only.
- The bread should slightly thicker like paratha or slightly thicker than regular chapathi.
