Spicy Bhakarwadi Chaat is a all time favorite Chaat in the states of Maharastra and Karnataka. This Bhakarwadi Chaat can be quickly prepared by using readymade Bhakarwadi. This Spicy Bhakarwadi is just perfect to make a chaat as it enhances the taste of the chaat by its spicy taste and crunchy texture.
Bhakarwadi is tossed together with veggies , spice powders , sprouts and sev and it is very quickly prepared even by college students or bacholers with out much effort.. This deep fried Bhakarwadi is made healthy to some extent by adding protein rich sprouts and carbohydrate rich potato which gives instant energy. Makes – 3 servings
- 1 1/2 cup Bhakarwadi
- 1 potato chopped and boiled
- 1/2 cup sprouts boiled
- 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
- 1/4 cup grated carrot
- 1 cup fresh curds
- 1 tsp cumin powder ( 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp )
- 1 tsp red chilly powder
- 1 tsp chat masala powder
- 1/4 cup green chutney
- 1/4 cup meetha or sweet chutney
- 1/2 tsp black salt
- ½ cup sev
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp powder sugar
- 1/2 cup pomegranate
Slightly crush the Bhakarwadi to coarse pieces using a stone.
Boil the sprouts directly along with water till becomes soft adding little salt.
Cook the potato pieces till it becomes soft.
Mix chopped onion , grated carrot and chopped coriander leaves nicely.
Beat the curds nicely and add cumin powder , black salt , 1 /2 tsp chat masala powder and give a nice mix.
Place the serving plates and place the coarse bhakarwadi pieces first.
Then put potato pieces , sprouts and carrot and onion mix.
Sprinkle green chutney and sweet chutney as per your wish.
Then put 2 to 3 tbsp beaten curds on each plate.
Sprinkle red chilly , cumin powder and chat masala powder.
Lastly drop sev and pomegranate and serve immediately .

- Avoid over crushing of bhakarwadi.
