Paneer tandoori masala

Paneer tandoori masala recipe in restaurant  style  can be learnt today in a simple way. Not having tandoor  at home made me experiment this recipe , using tandoori masala and tawa for the preparation. I have tried my level best to to put the flavor of paneer cooked in a tandoor in this recipe.

Paneer tandoori masala is delicious and one of the easiest and quickest paneer recipes, you can prepare in less than 35 minutes .Any one can try this  because it is made up of simple ingredients which are easily available. Paneer tandoori masala is a combination of paneer and magical spices that’s all.

Ingredients:-

Marination

Panner marinated with typical Indian spices, ginger garlic paste,besan and thick curd is used to make paneer tandoori masala.
Marinated paneer for paneer tandoori masala
  • 100 gms  Paneer cut into dices
  • ½ tsp  red  chilly powder
  • ½ tsp tandoori masala
  • ½ tsp  garlic paste
  • ½ tsp  ginger paste
  • ½ tsp  kasoori methi
  • ½ tsp haldi powder
  • ½ tsp chat masala
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ tsp roasted besan 
  • ½ tsp thick curds

Gravy

  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ tsp ghee
  • ½ tsp garlic paste
  • ½ tsp ginger paste
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 big tomato crushed to paste
  • 1 ½ tsp  red chilly powder
  • ½ tsp  tandoori masala powder
  • ½ tsp chat masala powder
  • ¼ tsp coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp  roasted cumin powder
  • 1 to 2 tbsp cashew nut  paste
  • 1 tbsp fresh cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee for roasting marinated paneer

Method:-

Cut the paneer to small dices  and marinate with ginger paste, garlic paste, curds , besan, turmeric powder, chat masala , red chilly powder, oil  and tandoori masala. Give a nice mix to all these ingredients in a bowl and rest it for 30 mins.

After 30 mins , heat ghee  on a tawa and roast the marinated paneer  till light brown and keep aside  to use in the gravy.

Heat the oil and ghee in a non stick pan. Sauté onion, ginger and garlic paste for a min or till light brown in colour. Then add tomato paste on the roasted onion and sauté nicely till the paste becomes thick  and all the moisture disappears from the paste.

Add red chilly powder, tandoori masala , coriander powder, roasted cumin powder and salt and roast nicely for a min. Put the kaju paste and sauté again for ½ a min. Now add the marinated paneer  and sauté for a min.  Then add the water to the sauted  paneer   according to your consistency and allow to boil the gravy for 5 mins by closing the lid.

In the end add cream and mix nicely and switch off the  stove.

Serve the  Paneer tandoori masala with roti, kulcha or non.

Tips:-

  • You may use kitchen king masala instead of tandoori masala.
  • You may prepare this like semi thick sabzi  by using minimum water.
  • You may add marinated paneer directly to the gravy without roasting the marinated paneer. In that case do not add besan to in the marination.
