Smashed Cucumber and Raw Mango Salad

Smashed Cucumber and Raw Mango Salad  is a very popular Cold Salad. Chinese people  rarely eat  uncooked  food but cucumber is an exception. Chinese prepare Smashed Cucumber Salad commonly  to open up the appetite. But  I have prepared this Smashed Cucumber salad  with a twist using raw mango  and  Indian spices.

Smashed Cucumber and Raw Mango Salad is perfect for cooling off  in the Summer. This Salad  is very healthy  and is so simple and quick to prepare. Cold  Cucumbers are  marinated  in little salt and then mixed with raw mango and soya dressing.

Marinating Time  –  30 to 45 minutes

Makes  –  1 serving

Smashed Cucumber and Raw Mango Salad

Ingredients:-

  • 3  medium size English cucumbers
  • 1 tsp  granulated sugar
  • 1 to 2 tbsp grated raw mango
  • 3 /4 tsp black salt
  • 2 garlic mashed
  • 1/4 to 1 /2 tsp light soya sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 to 1 /2 tsp red chilly paste
  • 1 /2 to 3/ 4 tsp white vinegar
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp  toasted white Sesame for garnish

Method:-

Wash the English cucumbers nicely in fresh water and take out the corners of the cucumber.

Smash the whole  cucumbers as it is using a stone and cut into dices.

Sprinkle little salt on the diced cucumber pieces and give a nice stir.

Place this cucumber dices on a strainer and keep the strainer a vessel properly so that extra water gets drained in that vessel.

Rest this cucumber dices marinated in the fridge as it is for 30 minutes.

Mix in mashed garlic, soya sauce, oil, vinegar, red chilly paste , black salt and grated raw mango in a bowl nicely.

Take out the marinated cucumber pieces from the fridge and shift it to a bowl.

Pour the dressing on the marinated cucumber dices and mix nicely.

Chill it in fridge for 5 minutes.

Place the  Tasty , healthy and yummy Cold Salad on the serving plate.

Sprinkle the tossed Sesame seeds on the Smashed Cucumber and Raw Mango Salad and serve immediately.

Tips:-

  • You may use Indian Cucumber.
  • You may use preserved mango paste instead of grated raw mango.
  • You may use 1 1/2 tbsp vinegar if raw mango is not there.
  • You may use garlic chutney in the place of red chilly paste if you like the smell of garlic.
